The famous VavilalaKhadiGramodyogPratishthan was set up in Remotevillage Vavilala, Karimnagar District in 1924 by Swami RamanandTirtha, A great freedom fighter, educator and a social activist. He played major role in the liberation of Erst while Hyderabad state and carried the legacy of Gandhian values.

Khadi is hand spun and hand woven fabric. The spinning wheel, known as the charkha, became an iconic symbol of the Khadi Movement.
Our weavers are trained in incorporating new designs and expanding the product range while retaining the unique selling proposition i.e. the natural fibre dye’s in organic coloured pigments, weaving using traditional skills and techniques developed over generations, helped in retaining the heritage.
Swamiji’s staunch follower and political disciple Late Shri PV NarasimhaRao former Prime Minister of India, continued the legacy of VavilalaKhadiPratishthan, He served the institution as chairman and for the welfare of weaver community till his last breath.

The institution continues to produce quality material with help of proficient weavers and skilled artisans.
